26 September 2019: DPAAS Meeting Invitation

A Perspective on the Health of the DoD Research Enterprise”

We are very pleased to announce that Dr. David Walker, Wright Brothers Institute, will be our speaker at the 26 September (Thursday) DPAAS meeting, 11:30-1:30 pm, 2800 Presidential Drive, Holiday Inn, Fairborn, Ohio. Dr. Walker will discuss “A Perspective on the Health of the DoD Research Enterprise”.

Abstract: Based on my recent experience on the Air Force Acquisition staff and the Naval Research Enterprise, I will provide my perspectives on the impact of the numerous changes and initiatives inside the Beltway and their potential impact on the R&D enterprise. These include reform of the OSD acquisition structure, Congressional authorities and limitations, the drive toward rapid acquisition and S&T reform efforts as well as numerous other influences.

Dr. David Walker is the Executive Director of the Wright Brothers Institute.  WBI serves the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the Community as an innovation and collaboration hub. Currently working initiatives to support small tech businesses; commercialize technologies from AFRL and its R&D partners; and connect AFRL to non-traditional partners (those not currently doing business with DoD). Interested in leading-edge innovation tools, processes and thinking.
