This inaugural Chesapeake Studies Conference is an interdisciplinary exploration of the Chesapeake and Delmarva region. Renowned for its seafood, poultry, and beaches, the region has a complex ecosystem, a long and fascinating history, and a unique culture. Sponsored by Salisbury University, the conference brings together scholars, researchers, students, and interested non-academics from diverse disciplinary perspectives. including the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

Registration includes the opening reception at the Ward Museum on June 5, conference sesions on June 6, and breakfast, lunch and refreshments on June 6. The optional Crab Feast, optional field trips on June 7, and lodging are separate.

For those who don't want to stay in a hotel, dorm housing is available on the Salisbury University campus. Please note that these are basic dorm rooms with shared bathrooms and that the air conditioning runs from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Linens are available for a one-time (not per-night) rate.
