How long is the course length?  - The course is approximately 3 miles long. We are well aware this is short of a full 5K.  If you are timing yourself, feel free to continue running until you have reached your personal goal - you are even welcome to run through an additional color station, or two.  Remember, the goal of the event is FUN!

How is the color administered along the course? - You will see six color stations with smiling volunteers along the course whose main goal is to shower you in colorful powder to ensure that you will look like you ran through a rainbow by the time you cross the finish line.

How does the color affect the inside of cars? - Most people bring some towels, or garbage bags, for the insides of their cars. Or maybe just a change of clothes.

Do the color stations affect runner vision? Or breathing? - The color powder used is all certified non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. Our bright colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C dyes. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our color throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by. Some runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandanna or dust mask for their mouths.

Can spectators attend the post-run events? - Absolutely! Although you may want to warn them...they may not come away from the event colorless!

Are cameras and phones safe to have in the color zones? - Our photographer is generally fine shooting from a distance of 50 feet, but to be safe, we recommend covering all cameras/phone with a protective dust wrap. A plastic zip bag works perfectly.  Those colorful powder particles are sneaky, and we are not liable for any damage that might be done to your cameras or phones.

What if I am pregnant? - It is totally up to you and your doctor to decide. The powder is all certified non-toxic.

What happens if there is bad weather? - This is Wisconsin, wait 5 minutes, right? A little rain, or snow, won't stop this wacky event, it can only make it wackier! If there are major weather concerns, stay tuned to our Facebook page.

Light colored, or highlighted hair - You may want to oil your hair before the race. This will help keep the color from sticking. Coconut oil, or olive oil work best, but a good leave-in conditioner will generally do the trick, too. Every head will react differently.  Pinks and blues are generally known to stain blondes for a few days. Or, just wear a hat.  To clean, dust away any loose powder and brush thoroughly. Rinse out the oil/conditioner with COLD water. Then follow with a normal wash. If color is still clinging, try a mixture of baking soda and blue Dawn dish soap.

Washing your clothing after the race - The color is probably not coming all the way out of your white cotton clothing. You should be proud of that! Every time you see a trace of leftover color, you should smile and remember the experience - eventually it will be gone. Remove all excess powder before adding water. Wash your Color Run gear separately, with COLD water.

Remember, there are NO refunds.

If you have a question that has not been answered, please contact us and we will get back to you with an answer.  If your question is awesome enough, we will add it to our FAQs for next year.

Again, and most important, if you have not signed the waiver form, you cannot participate.
