Washington Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group (WECCWG) Kickoff
The Washington State Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) identifies the Washington Military Department (WMD) as the coordinating agency for Emergency Support Function (ESF) 2. As such, WMD is initiating a triannual statewide WECCWG for all ESF 2 partners. The goal of our WECCWG is to strengthen partnerships and enhance our emergency communications preparedness, reliability and resiliency statewide.
Highlights include:
- Review of Vision, Purpose, and Charter of the WECCWG
- Strengthening Partnerships with the Private Sector
- Presentations on Emergency Management Plans, Support, and Alert Systems
- Cascadia Rising ESF2 After Action Review (AAR)
- Project Update on FirstNet, a proposed dedicated nationwide public safety wireless broadband network for emergency responders
