Hosting and Crowd Work (4 Week Workshop) Wednesdays, February 6th - February 27th   7:00pm-10:00pm 

 

We've received countless requests over the years for an extended Hosting Workshop and we're ecstatic to finally offer it to you. Comics will practice crowd work with a simulated audience, write topical jokes, and develop material for every occasion from Birthdays to fundraisers as well as specific crowds, from Urban Rooms to religious audiences.The fourth week will culminate in a live comedy club show where each "host" takes the stage in front of a real audience. 

Week One: Hosting Overview

• Learn the business side of Hosting
• Professionlism
• Practice crowd work with a simulated audience

Week Two: Writing for Occasions

• Topical jokes
• 5 joke exercise (when room is too hot, or Mic breaks) 
• Various rooms (Urban, Jewish, Kids parties)

Week Three: Working in Material

• When to do crowd work and work in material
• Handling cold rooms
• Writing for specific locales

Week Four: Live Show
