Resolving Caregiving Disputes -Elders & Families

How to Turn Difficult Conversations about Eldercare into Positive Action

Moving people off rigid positions and toward meaningful communication

Family friction often limits the ability for relatives to have ongoing positive communication and may trigger life-long conflict. Most of us have witnessed disputes between family members over the care of aging relatives. Professionals, neighbors and others may observe such tension during the course of their relationships. When families make unreasonable demands on senior service organizations, the organization may actually get stuck in the middle. Professionals, neighbors/friends and senior service staff have the ability to help families embrace important eldercare interactions in a more positive light.

In this online training session, you will discover a powerful tool to help reduce conflict, and learn about resources that can help when the conflict is too big for you to handle. We utilize video and audience participation to enhance learning.

Join us to:

·        Learn the foundation of conflict and begin to develop skills to resolve conflict

·        Acquire expertise to turn positions into interests

·        Learn how to initiate a tough conversation

·        Gain tools to better handle elder/intergenerational disputes

·        Discover the value of the elder mediation profession and when it may be an

         appropriate referral
