Lottery for Affordable Housing Units Training

Experienced practitioners will instruct and inform attendees on the stated 40B Guidelines as they relate to Affordable Fair Housing Marketing (AFHM), resident selection plans, and lotteries for affordable units. Both rental and homeownership unit requirements will be covered as well as 40B and non-40B units. Community board members and municipal staff will also benefit by gaining insight into the do's and don'ts when it comes to fair housing and local preference requirements in housing projects.

Second workshop -- Lotteries for Affordable Units

The second workshop, held on Nov. 5, will feature a step-by-step guide to the lottery process. Attention will be paid to lotteries for both homeownership and rental units as well as post-lottery waiting list management.  During this workshop, presenters will review how to include preference for lotteries, identifying the roles and responsibilities of lottery and monitoring agents, and the role of the community.

Certification

Attendees of both workshops will receive certification of attendance which, if combined with Certified Occupancy Specialist or other income determination training, will meet the qualifications of most organizations to conduct affordable homeownership and rental lotteries and lease-ups. Attendees must attend both sessions in order to receive the certification.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST REGISTER FOR EACH SESSION SEPARATELY IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND BOTH.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Cost to attend is $100 for both workshops or $70 for one workshop.  If you attended this workshop in the spring you will receive 50 percent off registration (use promo code "HALFOFF" when checking out).

NOTE: Once registration is at capacity, the link below will take you the waitlist.
