A Symposium Presented by Kaiser Permanente East Bay , the California Concussion Coalition, and the Sports Legacy Institute
Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

1) Describe the biomechanics and pathophysiology of a concussion

2) Recognize the signs and symptoms of concussion

3) Explain the short and long term consequences of concussion including Second Impact Syndrome and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy

4) Discuss the state regulations relevant to health care providers involved in the assessment and management of concussion

5) Outline the management of concussion in pediatrics, adults, and the athlete population in the office/clinic and on field/sideline setting

 Target Audience: Physicians, Neuropsychologists, Athletic Trainers and other medical providers involved in concussion treatment. Open to both Kaiser Permanente providers and non-Kaiser community providers.
