Honoring Our SLI Legacy Donors & Their Families
Please join our family for the Third Annual Tom McHale Memorial, benefiting Sports Legacy Institute and honoring SLI Legacy Donors, whose participation in CTE research has made possible the recent advancements in the scientific understanding of the effects of repetitive head trauma.
Meet SLI founding executive director Christopher Nowinski, author of Head Games and subject of the award-winning documentary of the same name, and mingle with former NFL players and other sports stars. Come see for yourself why SLI has risen so quickly to prominence as a national leader on sports concussion advocacy, education, and research, and is making our athletes safer in the Washington, D.C. region and around the world.
The Leadership Award will be presented to Senator Tom Udall of New Mexico for his concussion advocacy, including calling for more attention from the federal government and higher standards for protecting young athletes, which has brought positive change throughout the country.
The SLI Legacy Award will be presented to Michelle and Gil Trenum, parents of Legacy Donor Austin Trenum, for their leading role in implementing one of the nation's most comprehensive concussion management programs within their local district of Prince William County.
