HealthInsight Nursing Home Resident Safety Collaborative, Learning Session 5

“Residents don’t live in our facility, we work in their home.”

This 2.5 hour in-person meeting is the fifth learning session of the HealthInsight 2017-2018 Nursing Home Resident Safety Collaborative. We will share evidence-informed practices for creating an organizational culture that supports person-centered care. Topics include the importance of engaging residents and families in care,  benefits to safety, resident, family and staff satisfaction, and simple strategies facilities can employ to increase their level of resident and family engagement.

Come ready to share what your community does to promote resident engagement and a culture of resident safety.

Participants will be prepared to:

  • Describe key concepts of resident and family centered care
  • Explore the power of language in care settings
  • Identify opportunities to include residents and families in the QAPI program and facility safety initiatives

Who should attend: Nursing home administrators, directors of nursing, quality improvement leaders, corporate leadership, state survey agencies, trade associations, patient safety commission and other stakeholders.

Light lunch provided.
