Savannah Bee Company Factory Tour - July 26, 2019 

APICS Savannah is partnering with the Savannah Bee Company to offer you a tour of their Bee Garden. The garden tour starts off with one of their honey experts who will share a brief history of Savannah Bee Company. Then get ready to learn all about honeybees, beekeeping, and the impact bees have on our everyday lives and the environment.

After some basic education about the bees, your guide will lead you outside to the bee garden where you'll get up close and personal with a working beehive to learn about the habits of honeybees and the important hive ingredients in our beauty products.

Don't worry -- you will be provided with a hat and veil. Honeybees are generally very gentle creatures who mind their own beeswax, but we do want you to feel safe.

The Savannah Bee Company's Wilmington Island location gives the public a special opportunity to get up close and personal with their honeybees by offering this Honeybee Garden Tour. 

Ted Dennard is the Founder, President and head beekeeper of Savannah Bee Company. Growing up in Coastal Georgia, Ted’s journey into the magical world of bees and honey was sparked by an elderly beekeeper, Roy Hightower who believed in bee keeping as a way of life. 35 years later, Ted’s passion hasn’t waned. Ted backed into business in 1999 when his friend opened a store in Savannah and began selling his tupelo honey. Three years later, Savannah Bee Company was officially born. Today, Ted remains dedicated to sharing the world of bees with others and introducing new honeybee products to market. He loves his family and surfs when he can.

We strive to live as bees live: symbiotically with nature and in a manner that contributes positively to the world around us.
