Lineage started with the purchase of a single warehouse in Seattle, WA in 2008. They have developed into an organization that is deeply rooted in generations of cold storage expertise and on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Come tour their newest facility having just opened on Feb. 20th , with their Grand opening scheduled April 20th.
Lineage branches may be far-reaching, but the roots run deep – in fact, Lineage’s work dates back to the founding of New Orleans Cold Storage in 1886! Between then and now, Lineage has welcomed some of the world’s leading cold storage companies, many of which are family owned and operated, into the Lineage family. Lineage remains grounded in their heritage and embrace the many owners, family members and employees of these companies who continue to work with Lineage today.
The Lineage name combines their unique legacy and expertise with the connectedness of cold chain logistics. Similarly, the shield represents the companies that were built by entrepreneurs and families over decades and generations and today form Lineage. It is also symbol of the collective strength behind the company—"our people".
Lineage Logistics’ Director of Business Development, Ken Burke, will provide us with a tour of their newest next-generation facility near the Port of Savannah which will handle fresh produce and perishable imports. Operating as a cross-dock, in which product enters one side of the building and exits the other side via truck on the same day, the facility will also provide fumigation, packaging and other value-added services for customers to move fresh product efficiently to markets across the Southeast.
