2022 Scholarship, Financial Aid and Application Sessions 

The African American Youth Leadership Conference (AAYLC), in collaboration with Educating Children of Color (ECOC)Peak Education, and the Sachs Foundation's Elevated Program, is pleased to present our 2022 Scholarship, Financial Aid and College Application Sessions.  Our program will be on Saturday, October 15th at Tesla Professional Development Center, 2560 International Circle, Colorado Springs, CO  80910, from 9:00am - 2:00pm.

We invite all high school students and parents to attend this very special event.  Our informative day will provide three exceptional sessions.

  • 9:00am - 10:30am - Financial Aid and Scholarship Essay Writing Presentation : Learn about the basics of financial aid, FAFSA and other ways of paying for college.  During this session, you’ll also gain tips for creating a strong scholarship essay.  Workshop Facilitator:  Jasmine Rainey, Director of College Counseling with Peak Education and the Sachs Foundation's Elevated Program. 

  • 10:30am - 11:30am - UNCF Scholarship Presentation:  We are excited to announce that our keynote speakers Enjelica Reid and Mary Williams from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).  The United Negro College Fund represents 400 scholarships and internships.  

  • 11:30am - 12:30pmPanel Discussion & Lunch:  Representatives from the Boettcher Foundation, Daniels Fund, Sachs Foundation, Greenhouse Scholars, and other local colleges, universities and organizations will be available for a special Q & A session.  Lunch will be provided.

  • 12:30pm - 1:30pm - Scholarship Fair:  Local organizations will be available to provide information regarding their scholarships.

  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm - College Application Workshop (Optional):  High school seniors will have an opportunity to get assistance with their college application and essay.    Workshop Facilitator:  Jasmine Rainey, Director of College Counseling with Peak Education and the Sachs Foundation's Elevated Program. (This session is limited  to the first 70 high school seniors.)
