Join us on Saturday, March 12, 2016 for YPT’s fourth annual Giving Voice Award Gala, honoring DC theater legend Michael Kahn.

Enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres and an open bar, bid on unique silent auction prizes and dance the night away in the beautiful North Hall at Eastern Market, all while helping YPT raise funds to support our arts education programming! The YPT Giving Voice Award recognizes extraordinary individuals who have exemplified YPT's spirit and vision by giving voice to the voiceless and inspiring others to realize their full potential. We are proud to honor Michael Kahn with our 2016 Giving Voice Award.

Michael Kahn has served as the Artistic Director of Washington, DC’s Shakespeare Theatre Company since 1986. In this role, he has overseen the theatre’s growth, and in 1991, he established the annual Free for All productions, making high-quality theatre accessible for all in the nation’s capital for over 20 years. As a theatre educator, Kahn held the position of Richard Rodgers Director of the Drama Division of the Julliard School from 1992-2006. In 2000, he launched the Academy for Classical Acting MFA program at George Washington University, which he continues to lead today. Kahn’s commitment to high-quality theater, education and access to the arts has helped countless artists realize the power of their own voices in Washington, DC and across the country.
