The highlight of the CDS 2023 Annual Meeting is the day long symposium on Saturday, January 14^th at the LA Equestrian Center.  It will be an exciting Triangulation of Riding / Judging / Education with great shopping, raffles and cocktail party!

Our host is Michael Osinski – renown FEI/USEF Judge, trainer, rider and he is on the USDF National Test Change committee.  And, there will be a fantastic panel of highly regarded judges – Hilda Gurney, Melissa Creswick, Janet Curtis – that will assist in helping you understand what judges are looking for and how to improve your test.  The demonstration riders will be local professionals that will show off their fancy horses and their amazing riding abilities

Presenters

MIKE OSINSKI

Mike Osinski is a USEF “S” Dressage and FEI 4* Dressage and Young Horse Judge and has been approved to the USDF L Program Faculty.
Mike has vast experience in judging, teaching, and riding. He has taught a USEF "R” Dressage Judge Training program, served as a United States Pony Club examiner, and been a guest speaker at the USEF Young Dressage Horse National Championships. With all of his accomplishments and experience, he is sure to give an inspiring and educational review of training for the new national tests.

JUDGE PANEL

HILDA GURNEY – “S”
Hilda is an USEF “S” judge and FEI “I” judge retired.
Hilda is a two time Olympian, with one Bronze Medal, three Gold Medals at three Pan Am Games. She is also a two time USDF Breeder of the Year. In 2007 she was inducted into the USDF Hall of Fame.  Hilda has been one of the best American dressage competitors for the past 34 years.

MELISSA CRESWICK
She is an “S” rated USEF dressage judge.  She has competed through Grand Prix and is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold USDF Medalist and was nationally ranked in PSG. Melissa was on the faculty of the Sport Horse Committee and the Editorial Board Committee at USDF.
She also has an active judging and clinic schedule and a passion for the education of horses and riders in dressage.

JANET CURTIS
Jan Curtis is an “S” judge who rides, trains and teaches at Nellie Gail Ranch in Laguna Hills, CA.  Her riding accomplishments include the bronze, silver and gold medals. In 1994, her horse, Rosenthal, a Swedish Warmblood, was chosen to participate in the Olympic Festival. Then in the late 1990”s she competed extensively and successfully at Grand Prix on her Russian Warmblood. In addition, she judges and clinics extensively. Jan just retired from her other career at Long Beach City College as a Health Science professor for 38 years. In between judging assignments, she and her husband spend much of their time traveling around the world for business and pleasure.
