We will start with a demonstration and a little background history. Then, you will get to try your hand at this ancient art form. We will learn how to use just one bamboo brush to create the thinnest and thickest lines in your art work, how to grind an ink stick to produce the black ink used in traditional images, and how to apply Chinese watercolors. We will adapt ancient techniques, which are meditative as well as artistic.
All supplies for use in the workshop will be provided.
No artistic background in necessary. All welcome.
