Dr. Frank Farmer, of Ormond Beach, Florida, was appointed surgeon general of the State of Florida by Governor Rick Scott in March 2011. Farmer, the former president of the Florida Medical Association will serve as the state's chief medical officer as well as the secretary for the Health Department.
