Teresa Huizar, Executive Director of the National Children's Alliance
Teresa Huizar brings unparalleled skill and expertise to every aspect of National Children's Alliance. Ms. Huizar has worked with the children’s advocacy center movement in various capacities since 1993. During the intervening 16 years, she has served as the Executive Director of two children’s advocacy centers in Colorado, the Coordinator of the Colorado Children’s Alliance, the Director of Fund Distribution for United Way of Weld County Colorado, and the Project Director for the Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center.

Dr. Nadine J Burke, MD, MPH, FAAP, AE-C,
the founding physician and Medical Director of the Bayview Child Health Center, a community-based satellite clinic of California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Burke was recently featured in the March 21st New Yorker article entitled:
"The Poverty Clinic; Can a Stressful Childhood Make You a Sick Adult?"
Dr. Burke's areas of interest are in health disparities, child trauma, asthma and nutrition. Particularly, her focus is to serve communities where issues of poverty and race present challenges to conventional healthcare and education. Her vision is to improve health outcomes through innovative approaches that integrate medical, social, and mental health services.
