WHAT: Spring for YOUR River with WKCC and Willamette Riverkeeper! Everyone benefits from a good old-fashioned spring cleaning... your efforts will help enhance water quality, wildlife habitat, and improve the overall safety and enjoyment of our beautiful Willamette River.
WHERE: PLEASE BE SELF SHUTTLED AHEAD OF TIME. Plan to meet at the boat ramp in the main parking area at Clearwater Park in Springfield. Be ready to put-in at the meeting time.
WHEN: Saturday - 5/1 * 10AM-2PM
DETAILS: Please have your shuttle completed before meeting at 10AM at the Clearwater Park boat ramp. Please dress weather appropriately, bring water, face mask, hand sanitizer, and wear close-toed shoes for safety while working in clean up areas. We will provide trash bags, non-latex gloves, trash pickers and masks for those without their own. Volunteers are required to wear PFDs and masks (while on shore), and practice social distancing for the duration of the event and must be confident paddling in class II water. This clean up will be led by our partners at Willamette Kayak & Canoe Club.
FOR FUN: Trash or Treasure? You decide! Post your favorite photos from your cleanup experience to social media between April 22-June 6, 2021 with #SpringforYourRiver or feel free to submit to info@willametteriverkeeper.org for a chance to win a prize!
