Beginning Fair Isle Colorwork Knitting Quoth Mittens 

 

   

Join us for this great colorwork class! Have you been wanting to learn how to knit up Fair Isle patterns, aka stranded knitting? Then this class is for you! Echo Mae will walk you through the techniques needed to knit up a pair of Quoth mittens, a lovely pair of Norwegian-style mittens featuring a silhouetted raven against a full moon.

In addition to learning how to knit cozy Norwegian-style mittens, this class will include instruction on how to read a colorwork chart, and how to knit stranded knitting patterns.This three-part class will be offered on Jan 12th, 26th,  and Feb 9th at 11-12:30pm

Prerequisites:

  • Students need to know how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase and decrease
  • Students must be relatively comfortable knitting in the round using either double pointed needles or using a circular needle with the Magic Loop technique.
Supplies needed:
  • 1 skein SpinCycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool or other sport weight yarn (main color)
  • 1 skein SpinCycle Yarns Versus or other sport weight yarn (constrasting color)
  • Size 3 40-inch circular needles for Magic Loop, or four Size 3 double-pointed needles
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle

The pattern in included with the class, but students will need to purchase the above supplies before class. An in-store discount of 10% is offered on any materials you purchase for the class
