Did You know those struggling with the challenges of poverty are most at risk of becoming a Victim of Human Trafficking? Traffickers prey upon those with vulnerabilities such as those who struggle with hunger, paying bills, homelessness, immigration status and runaways.
Community Awareness: Join our efforts in bringing an important awareness and educational program to vulnerable communities to warn them of the dangers of this evil crime that is lurking in our City! Amistad Houston is a program of our parish Outreach Ministry and is in partnership with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Amistad Movement is the Church's response effort to the prevention of Human Trafficking. Join us and learn how to identify signs of human trafficking, how to help victims, support survivors and how to be a conscious consumer and ethical employer to prevent modern day slavery.
*A special Amistad Certified Community Educators Training will be offered immediately after the Awareness Training (1pm - 4pm) for those who wish to commit to becoming an Amistad Houston Certified Educator to help further the Amistad Movement in Houston.
