Budget 2018 – Is the tide turning?
Each year in Wellington Child Poverty Acton Group (CPAG) and the Public Health Assocation (PHA) provide a child-focused analysis and commentary of the year's budget. CPAG and the PHA arrange a breakfast meeting to provide an accessible and affordable avenue for the community to come together and hear about how the budget affects children and young people, especially our most vulnerable who live in poverty.

David Parker (Assoc Minister of Finance): David will be presenting the 2018 Budget and answering questions.
Len Cook: Families Commissioner, was New Zealand’s Government Statistician from 1992 to 2000, and the UK’s National Statistician from 2000 to 2005. He was a member of the Royal Commission on Social Policy in 1987-88. He is chair of the board of Superu, and a member of the Remuneration Authority. Len's prime interests include public administration, population change and public policy, official statistics and the place of science in policy. He regularly works with official statisticians in the Pacific. He was appointed Families Commissioner in July 2015.
Hon Assoc Prof Susan St John: Susan is a founding member of CPAG and CPAG spokesperson on economics & incomes. She is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Economics Department, University of Auckland and the director of the Retirement Policy and Research Centre. Susan has contributed to a wide range of CPAG publications and the Human Rights Appeal Case.
