Keynote: Promoting Brain Health
Lifestyle has a profound impact on your brain development. What you eat and drink, how much you exercise, how well you sleep, the way you socialize, and how you manage stress are all critically important to your brain health. This is particularly true during the first five years of life when the brain is rapidly developing. A body of scientific evidence now demonstrates the negative impact of adverse life events on brain development and its impact on physical health, mental health and the epigenetic changes that become hard wired into our genes. Implications for prevention and treatment will be described.
