Political Radicalization and Cult Influence: Clinical Considerations and Strategies

This training event will award  5 contact hours for LMSW and LCSW with the NYSED State Board for Social Work and 5 contact hours for LMHC and LMFT with the NYSED State Board for Mental Health Practitioners and 5 CASAC renewal credits.

In today's polarized social climate marked by divisive rhetoric and pervasive conspiracy theories, individuals grapple with strained relationships, family conflicts, and employment challenges. This seminar addresses the profound impact of cult influence and conspiracy theories on personal and collective identities, exploring real-world persuasive tactics and the process by which individuals become entrenched in such ideologies. Clinicians will gain insights into ethical dilemmas and acquire conversational strategies to navigate these sensitive topics in therapy, offering case studies and research findings to enhance their understanding of this complex issue.
