MIC & MOC are partnering to engage in a Housing Sabbath during the weekend of Sukkot from October 10th-12th, 2014 when communities of faith will open their doors to people to share the news of the importance of affordable housing from both personal and religious perspectives.
By sharing our stories, and meeting neighbors we've never met before, we can become a much more powerful force for justice. Let us pray, study and work together to make Marin a more welcoming and inclusive community.
Housing Sabbath is rooted in the values that we share across boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, and class. We hold common values of shelter for all persons and respect for all neighbors - housed and unhoused - who all appreciate having a place to belong - a home. The Housing Sabbath provides us the opportunity to reflect and act together during Sukkot to create shelter and home for all in Marin County.
