Virtual Workshop on APPLICATION OF OCEAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR BLUE ECONOMY 

The overarching objective of the workshop is to explore how ocean science and technology can contribute to achieving blue economy goals. The workshop will present current concepts in blue economy, followed by discussion of specific topics that include resources that contribute to achieving blue economy goals, environmental threats that endanger these goals, the importance of ocean observing systems in achieving the goals, and how capacity development is needed. By illuminating the use and misuse of science in blue economies, the workshop aims to help establish the foundation of scientific knowledge and ocean observations for achieving sustainable ocean development.
