For the first time in over a decade, the Florida Summit on Childhood Deafness will be held on November 10-12, 2022 at the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa in Orlando, Florida

The conference will focus on professional development and collaboration of individuals who invest in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH). Teachers of students who are DHH, speech language pathologists (SLPs), families, audiologists, interpreters, early interventionists, administrators, and paraprofessionals will find content that is evidence-based, current, and applicable to the needs of the students they support. Concurrent sessions and exhibits will allow participants to personalize their learning of principles, strategies, and instructional tools that will enable them to provide effective services to their students. The conference is also a great place for participants to meet, network, and collaborate with other professionals in the field and to provide support for our professional community.

But wait! There's more!

Registrants will also have the opportunity to take advantage of one pre-conference topic held November 9, 2022. Links to register for the individual pre-conference events can be found on the conference web page. For more information, email FLSummitDHH@gmail.com.

In order to ensure accessibility for every participant and to model universal design for learning, each presenter and audience member is asked to acknowledge and utilize accessibility practices in each session, both general and concurrent. Each room will have an interpreter present. Presenters and voice interpreters are asked to use a microphone throughout their session. Audience members are asked to make comments or ask questions using a handheld microphone or the presenter will repeat their comment or question through the microphone so each participant has full access. Each presentation will also include auto-generated captions.

Florida district personnel may be eligible to receive a registration waiver. Please reach out to your DHH Program contact for more information.
