Racial Equity Institute:

The Groundwater Presentation

The Racial Equity Institute describes the typical Groundwater Presentation as "a three-hour introduction to Racial Equity. In this lively and participatory presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.

The Groundwater Presentation dovetails with REI’s Phase 1 workshop, is recommended as an introduction or followup to a full two-day workshop."

The Racial Equity Institute (REI) believes that organizations are often working in very intentionally civil ways yet operating from multiple understandings that rely more on personal feelings and popular opinion. This creates complications to the goal of eliminating racial and ethnic disparities and producing equitable outcomes.

Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods is proud to bring Racial Equity Institute, LLC to Winston-Salem. This dynamic and transformational workshop is a part of our "Neighbors in Action" series.

Register to discover what Racial Equity Training is all about and explore new ways of creating the change that you want to see.

Please note: limited scholarship funding is available. If you are interested in attending but find the registration cost to be a barrier, please email the NBN Training Coordinator Anna Seip at aseip@nbncommunity.org -- we would still like to have you join the workshop! We will work with you to ensure that everyone who is interesting in attending is able as space + funds permit.
