NAPSG Foundation Virtual Training: Federal GeoCONOPS

Please join us for a virtual training session, the third in our 2014 series.  This session will cover the Federal Geospatial Concept of Operations, or GeoCONOPS.

The Homeland Security (HLS) GeoCONOPS is a multiyear effort that provides a strategic roadmap and knowledge base to understand, and improve, coordinating geospatial activities across the entire spectrum of the Nation: from federal, to state, and local governments, to private sector and community organizations, academia, the research and development industry and citizens in support of Homeland Security and Homeland Defense (HD). The intended audience for this document is the entire geospatial community supporting the missions of the federal government under The Stafford Act, the National Response Framework (NRF) and Presidential Policy Directive 8 (PPD-8), and PPD-21. This includes stakeholders and actors representing the Emergency Support Functions (ESFs), the Joint Field Offices (JFO), Federal Operations Centers, the disaster preparedness exercise and evaluation community, and those involved in other NRF missions. Individuals representing these groups and activities have been extensively engaged in providing input for this document.

This virtual session will provide the NAPSG community with an overview how the GeoCONOPS can be used to provide a mission blueprint of the geospatial resources and capabilities available for support in the Homeland Security Enterprise. The session will consist of a status update on the latest version (Version 6.0) and associated annexes; as well as provide users with demonstrations on accessing the GeoCONOPS Website and training modules.
