Yosemite All-Hazards Region GIS Workshop
The National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG) Foundation and University of California, Merced, are hosting a no-cost workshop for members of the emergency management community near Yosemite National Park. The goals of this workshop are:
- To introduce the DHS Science & Technology Core Information Guidelines to the local emergency management and first responder community.
- Discuss lessons learned and best practices implemented in recent disasters.
- Facilitate the formation of a new GIS for Emergency Management coordination group (Yosemite All-Hazards Region GIS for Emergency Management - YAHR).
What To Bring?
- All: A mobile device for completing a quick survey (not mandatory)
- GIS Specialists: A laptop with your ArcGIS Online username / password (*contact us if you do not have one). There will be Public Wifi available in the afternoon.
Agenda (Tentative)
09:00AM - 12:00 PM The morning will feature presentations, a hands-on activity, and discussions around the topic of core information needs for all-hazards incidents.
12:00 PM Lunch (not hosted) - To see eateries in the area, please click here.
1:00PM - 4:00 PM The afternoon will consist of a workshop format with hands-on training for the GIS Specialists; all audiences are welcome.
