Race Period: June 13-20th, 2015

Distances: 5k, 10k, Half Marathon

About this Run: Complete this virtual run any time from June 13-20th. Run, walk or crawl your chosen distance wherever you want and with whomever you want – even on a treadmill! After you finish your run, post your results and a photo to be included in our Facebook gallery.

All participants will receive a personalized race bib via email and we’ll mail your awesome shirt and pin before the race period begins. This race is open to participants of all ages and abilities.

Racer-($35) one month child sponsorship: digital profile of child covered for that month, receives shirt, racing bib, and pin.

Bronze-($70) two month sponsorship of one child covered: receives a digital profile of child covered for two months, shirt, racing bib, and pin.

Silver-($105) three month sponsorship of one child covered: receives a digital profile of child covered for three months, shirt, pin, racing bib, name on the back of the shirt (if registered before April 16th) and Facebook mention.

Gold-($420) ONE YEAR sponsorship for a child: receives a shirt, pin, racing bib, prominent name on the back of the shirt (if registered before April 16th), a sponsorship profile packet and Facebook mention, and a personal letter from the child sponsored.

Platinum-($1,000+)  ONE YEAR sponsorships for two children: receives a shirt, pin, racing bib, prominent name on the back of the shirt (if registered before April 16th), and Facebook mention, a sponsorship profile packet, and a personal letter from the children sponsored and a Thank You plaque.

What is a virtual race?

A virtual race is a race that can be run anywhere. Participants can run or walk the race distance wherever they want during the designated race period, even indoors on a treadmill.

How does a virtual race work?

Simply register for our virtual run complete the distance any time and anywhere you desire (even on a treadmill!) during the designated race dates, and post your finish time to our Facebook page. That’s all there is to it!

Who can participate?

Anyone! Young or old, fast or slow – we encourage participants of all ability levels.

How do I track my distance and time my run?

The most accurate way to do this is by using a Running GPS watch, but there are also several free smartphone apps available for iPhones and Android phones that you can use.

When will I receive my race bib, t-shirt or pin?

Bibs: Will be emailed to you  before the race period begins.

Pins and shirts will usually be shipped to participants before the race period begins. Occasionally, due to unexpected demand or manufacturing delays beyond our control, there may be slight delays with late registrants receiving their pins or t-shirts. We will communicate these on the race’s registration page as soon as we are aware of the delay. You will always receive your shirt and pin within a few weeks of the end of the race period, in the absolute worst case.

What kind of paper should I print my race bib on?

You can buy Waterproof Ink Jet Map Paper if you want your bib to be durable enough to withstand sweat/rain/etc., but you can also print it on regular paper and then put it inside some sort of bib holder. We’ve found that regular sheet protectors cut down to size work great!

Where do I upload my results?

On our Facebook Page. Simply search for: "Mattaw Safari Run #Race2Rescue"

You can upload a race photo on that page too if you'd like for it to be included in our Facebook gallery for the race. 

Do I have to upload my results in order to receive my shirt and pin?

Officially, no. We will mail your shirt and pin to you regardless of whether or not you uploaded your finish time or not. That said, we encourage all participants to upload their results, along with a photo we can post in a gallery on our Facebook page.

How do I register multiple people?

After adding the first registration to your cart, return to the registration page and add another. You can then proceed to the checkout and pay for them both at once.

We need to do it this way so you will be able to select each person’s race distance and enter each of their names for their custom bibs.

How do I pay with a debit or credit card instead of PayPal?

When you get to the payment screen, click on the “Pay with a debit or credit card” link instead of signing in to your PayPal account:

Do you ship internationally?

No

Are there any hidden fees?

Nope. We don’t tack on any processing fees, taxes, or even domestic shipping and handling charges – everything is included in the price you see.

Do you offer group discounts?

No.

How much of each registration fee goes to charity?

100% from the remainder of the race production cost goes to child sponsorships.

Is my registration fee tax deductible?

Yes.
