On November 15, 2019, the New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research (NJABR) is pleased to offer its 26th Annual IACUC Conference - the region's premier training conference for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee members, lab animal veterinarians, animal welfare compliance specialists and lab animal research team members.

This year's conference will focus on opportunities to improve laboratory animal welfare and increasing the connection between human and animal health, while reducing regulatory burdens and ensuring that institutional policies promote best outcomes possible.

IACUC 26 will open with a keynote presentation from Nancy Halpern, DVM, Esq., Partner at the law firm of Fox Rothschild LLP regarding legal issues affecting laboratory animal research programs.  The morning session will also feature presentations and a moderated panel discussion with regulatory experts in the field, including representatives from AAALAC, USDA, and OLAW. Highlighting the morning plenary session will be a presentation discussing One Health topics by NJABR member institution representatives.

The conference will also offer a selection of afternoon workshops led by morning session speakers and other leading professionals in the laboratory animal welfare field.  Among this year's workshops are an ask the regulators session, our popular new IACUC member workshop, animal re-homing, and many others.

The full IACUC 26 agenda is posted below.
