Batsheva Hartstein, LCSW-C, RPT attended University of Maryland School of Social Work and completed her MSW in 2014. She worked for Catholic Charities Villa Maria for two and half years working in an outpatient clinic and Baltimore public city and county schools doing individual, family, and group therapy as well as providing interventions and support to the schools. When Beth completed her LCSW-C in 2017 she began working at Recovery Counseling Center where she currently works doing outpatient therapy. Beth obtained her RPT credentials and now focuses on utilizing directive play therapy techniques with children.
In this engaging and interactive training, play therapists will gain a greater knowledge of how to choose appropriate games and engage clients in ways that work towards achieving their therapeutic goals. Participants will learn how games can be used to assess behavior, how to determine whether games are appropriate for the individual child’s treatment, and learn how make a game more than just a game—but a therapeutic experience. Additionally, participants will learn a large array of therapeutic benefits of games and a variety of new games to incorporate in their practice. The training will demonstrate how to use specific games for children with different common diagnoses and how to have family sessions using game play therapeutically. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and apply their new knowledge and skills with different games in the training.
