At My Word Publishing, our authors work hard at writing, marketing, and publishing their books. So whataya say we loosen up a bit and head back to the fun art class of childhood.
Gail Nelson who is one of our eBook designers (and layout designers...) is also an artist. Over the years she has created some fabuous art projects out of books, and now wants to offer this fun to us!
So please join us at this fun, hands-on, artsy-craftsy workshop where we can take our books (or any funky book you can find!) and create an altered book with a tin drawer and key handle, or maybe you could create an altered children's book journal, or a music box (Yes! out of a book!).
You can use this fun artsy project to be used to set your goals for what you want to bring into your life -- or pick any theme that resonates with you. Make a treasure box! Make a blank journal with goals and a place to write.
Gail will encourage us to use images and words cut from magazines, stamps, markers, etc. Also, bring any magazines you want to share, along with other things you might like to add to your book collage or journal.
Glue sticks, scissors, and art materials will be provided.
So look for a hard cover book or journal - whether it's yours or just a beautiful one you'd like to make into a piece of art -- and get ready for a creative day of big book magic!
See you back in childhood!
