The Junior Company Foundation has put together a tremendous line-up for actors looking for resources and further training this May. Each session is available individually, or in series, and requires completion of our pre-registration forms. Please see any applicable registration fees listed below. 

Session one is great for the student, or the parent of a student. Please share this unique opportunity to all you know but note to guarantee a seat in the theater we ask you pre-register. We will take walk-ins the day of as seating is available.

Please pay special note to session two and three as they will be formatted for very individualized feedback and learning, and have a strict limit of only 18 participants each.

SESSION 1:

MEET THE AUTHOR: “THE COLLEGE AUDITION”

Are you the parent of an aspiring Musical Theatre college student? Do you wish there was a guide to lead your child and you through the college audition process?

Or are you a  high school student, community college transfer student, or preparing for a degree in theatre? This FREE seminar is for you-  

Tim Evanicki, the author of the book "The College Audition," presents this 90-minute seminar for high school students who are interested in pursuing a degree in theatre. This seminar will cover everything you need to know about the daunting college audition process. Beginning with understanding the different theatre degrees available to you, to selecting a smart list of colleges to ensure your best chances of getting accepted, to the audition process and acceptance, you will leave this seminar with the tools you need to move forward and take the first steps in applying for your Theatre degree!

Seating is limited at The 2nd Space and we are opening this to the entire community, so please register  to insure your seat. Ideal for parents and/or  students.

Tim will have books on-sale and be available for book signings following the seminar.

Bio: 

Tim Evanicki is a celebrated Juilliard-educated voice teacher and singer, who has traveled extensively, singing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

With 14 years experience as a vocal coach, Mr. Evanicki has prepared his students go on to follow in his footsteps, attending some of the nation’s leading music schools and musical theater programs. His students have been seen on the stages of Broadway, Regional Theatre, National Tours, London’s West End, and in Feature Films.

Tim has been preparing students for their college auditions for 14 years. His clients have been admitted to NYU Tisch, NYU Steinhardt, Carnegie Mellon, Point Park, Baldwin Wallace, CCM, Boston Conservatory, Syracuse, Pace, and other top musical theatre programs across the country. He is author of the book “The College Audition: A Guide for High School Students Pursuing a Degree in Theatre.”

He has worked extensively as a master class clinician and adjudicator, working with soloists and choirs for the Florida State Thespian Conference, The Florida Vocal Association, The Miss America Organization, The Cinderella International Scholarship Pageant, The Florida Theatre Conference, The Virginia State Thespian Conference, The Georgia State Thespian Conference, The Alabama State Thespian Conference, The Florida Association for Theatre Educators, The Georgia Theatre Conference, The Southeaster Theatre Conference, Arts Bridge/The Cobb Energy Center, and Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, CT.

SESSION 2:

MUSICAL THEATER AUDITION MASTERCLASS

Get a chance to be seen by Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), Equity house Artistic Director,           and Central Valley native, Kenney Green.

 This session will be set-up like mock musical theater audition callback. Students will be asked to come in with 16 bars of a memorized song audition piece to perform in a mock audition format that will include feedback as well as bring jazz and tap shoes to learn a ‘dance callback’ audition taken straight from the ‘real world’. Kenney will close with a Q & A on what it is really like to support yourself as an artist in New York for close to 20 years. 

Open to ages 8+. This class is strictlly limited to the first 18 students who register.

Preparation required:

- bring in 16 bars MAX sheet music ready to play (with song memorized to present)

- pack tap  and jazz shoes and dress for a dance call

Bio:

Kenney is a California boy, born and raised, who has always had a need to be on a stage.  Moving to New York City from Fresno, California to pursue an acting career was just what the doctor ordered. He thoroughly enjoys participating in all aspects of theatre. From the hanging of lights to the fabric used in draping a dress. Dissecting a musical or a play and piecing it together again, discovering new paths in the rehearsal room, gluing everything together in tech to OPENING NIGHT....well, there just isn't anything like it! Kenney has recently been appointed as Producing Artistic Director of Depot Theatre in Westport, New York, a non-profit, professional theater operating under an agreement with Actor’s Equity Association.  

Green has extensive experience as a choreographer, musical director, and director at venues that include New Harmony Theatre in Indiana, Lake Dillon Theatre in Colorado, Interlakes Theatre in New Hampshire, Emelin Theatre in New York and the RPI Young Actors’ Guild in New York. Green was also a Junior Company director and choreographer Good Company Players in Fresno, CA for three years. He has a long list of acting roles, is a longtime performer at New York’s Marie’s Crisis Pop Piano Bar, and produces the Marie’s Crisis annual International tours in London and in Sydney, Australia. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).

SESSION 3:

ACTING YOUR VOICE OFF! Voice Over Artist Masterclass

 

What do these images have in common? Learn about working in the land of video games and animation on voice-overs. 

This is a very ‘voices-on’ masterclass! In this session each student will receive sides (script scenes from the real world), and be able to come to class and take their turn at the MIC! Chris will lead and coach each student and record so you can hear your work back and refine. The session will close with a roundtable talk about how to break into the voice-over business as well as highlights of some of his personal experiences with Disney/Pixar and Dreamworks.  

Open to ages 12 to Adult. This class is strictlly limited to the first 18 students who register.

Preparation required:

- Prior to the session you will be emailed sides, please come in familiar with material

- pack a water bottle

Bio:

CHRISTOPHER SWINDLE is a professionally trained voice actor who was born in the Central Valley and now resides in Los Angeles, Ca. He has recorded numerous national television and radio commercial campaigns for such clients as BMW, BUDWEISER, and NINTENDO. He is also featured in several award-winning video games that include TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION, LEGO DC SUPER-VILLAINS, and KINGDOM HEARTS 3 as the voice of Sulley for Pixar/Disney.

Known for his ability to voice match, he has looped ADR dialogue on several major motion pictures and television projects for such celebrities as John Goodman in 'ATOMIC BLONDE', Philip Seymour Hoffman in 'HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE', and Bryan Cranston in 'POWER RANGERS'.

Currently, he stars in DreamWorks’ KUNG FU PANDA: THE PAWS OF DESTINY and also a brand new animated series coming soon from Disney Television Animation.
