Downsview Park Planting - Earth Day Weekend 2017

Downsview Park is one of Canada's largest urban parks. Located just north of the Highway of Heroes, this area was once home to Canadian Forces Base Toronto. The area has a rich military history.

The plantings undertaken at the park will truly have a legacy impact on the community...pleasing nearby residents and visitors for generations to come. Don't miss a chance to positively contribute to the legacy building in YOUR city. This planting is being undertaken in partnership with TD Bank Group, Maple Leaves Forever and Canada Lands - the federal agency that is responsible for Downsview Park, and supporter of the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute campaign.

About Highway of Heroes Tribute

We are planting 117,000 trees – one tree for each of Canada’s war dead since Confederation. A living, breathing memorial. We will also plant an addiitonal 2.1 million trees, one for every Canadain who has served in uniform during times of conflict. Read More
