Fair Labor Association Forum on Migration & Trafficking in Supply Chains

About migration and human trafficking
There are 214 million international migrants worldwide, and the majority of these men and women migrate in order to find work and provide for their families. Many are successful, and are able to support family members in their hometowns. In 2009 alone, migrants sent an estimated $414 billion back home to their families. For millions of other migrant workers, however, the experience is marred with difficulties ranging from homesickness to bad working conditions and may even lead to trafficking – otherwise known as modern-day slavery.
