Fair Labor Association Forum on Migration & Trafficking in Supply Chains

October 3, 2011 at the University of Notre Dame
Leading labor experts, advocates, representatives from major clothing brands, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) will gather at the University of Notre Dame to discuss migration and human trafficking issues in the global supply chain. Join students and faculty to learn more about migration and how trafficking impacts workers, like Flor Molina. Click here to view a draft of the program.

During the forum, professors, labor leaders and human rights advocates will provide an overview of how migration and trafficking affect the men and women who manufacture some of your favorite clothing and other products. Visit www.fairlabor.org to learn more about how universities, NGOs and companies are working together to protect workers' rights worldwide.

Space for this event is limited.  Please register and click "Print Ticket" after registration.

About migration and human trafficking
There are 214 million international migrants worldwide, and the majority of these men and women migrate in order to find work and provide for their families. Many are successful, and are able to support family members in their hometowns. In 2009 alone, migrants sent an estimated $414 billion back home to their families. For millions of other migrant workers, however, the experience is marred with difficulties ranging from homesickness to bad working conditions and may even lead to trafficking – otherwise known as modern-day slavery.
