MEAT Your Profit Potential: Alleghany Meats Site Visit

Market trends indicate consumers' desire to buy local meat; how can our facilities, retailers and restaurants capture those consumer dollars?

The WV Food and Farm Coalition Meat Working Group & partners VC2 and Natural Capital Investment Fund have developed a series of trainings for West Virginia’s niche meat businesses.

Join us for a site visit to an industry leader, Alleghany Meats, a cooperatively-owned full service, federally inspected meat processing facility located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Alleghany Meats puts a focus on humane handling as well as customized cutting and packaging. Our tour will cover the areas of livestock handling, floor design, cooler system and freezer management, processing room management as well as curing, smoking and RTE products.
