“In the first act you get your hero up a tree. The second act, you throw rocks at him. For the third act you let him down.” — George Abbott, American theater producer and director
What tree are you runinng YOUR protagonist up?
This is one of the many questions we'll be asking (and answering) in the Blackbird Summer Intensive.
If you are like a lot of writers, you are working hard but on the wrong thing. Craft is important but it all that craft isn't going in a particular direction, you might stall out. This intensive is designed to get you "unstuck."
We will suss out your structure, your plot, and your antagonistic forces, then we will refine or re-plot plan your entire project.
Our goal in these four days will be to find the heart of what you are writing or that defining moment when "everything changes" and build out from there (also known as the climax).
Don't go it alone. Don't spin in circles for another year, either. Get that project organized, and then get it done.
