IASN 62nd Annual Conference
New Trends in School Nursing:
Changing Practices to Meet our Students' Needs
 

The Illinois Association of School Nurses welcomes all nurses who work in schools and other related settings to their upcoming 62nd Annual Conference. Join school nurses from across Illinois and beyond on October 25th and 26th at the NIU Center in Hoffman Estates.

Learning Outcome:

Participants will describe with detail how he or she will integrate at least one concept or practice strategy into their daily care.-- Participants will change practice to integrate evidence- based tools and information that will support resiliency, health, and well- being among youth.

  • The Illinois Association of School Nurses is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the  Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91). 

  • This conference activity awards 8.5 contact hours for Friday & Saturday. An additional 3.0 contact hours will be awarded for attendance at the two Preconference Sessions. Requirements for receiving the certificate of completion are: attendance for all learning sessions and submission of a post-activity evaluation online.

Disclosures: No conflict of interest is present on the part of the planning team. Speaker disclosures will be made at the time of the individual presentations.

Elevating Your Voice:  Empowerment and Representation in School Nursing 

Katie Duke is Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 15+ years experience in Nursing. In addition to her full-time career as an NP, she is also an editorial contributor, public speaker, mentor, social media influencer, and founder of the “Duke It Up Event” which is a lifestyle and career empowerment workshop. Katie is a brand spokesperson for Cherokee Uniforms, maintains a full-time social media influencer career, is a key contributor to Scrubs Magazine, and has been featured in global women’s empowerment media campaigns. Over the last three years, she has grown her social media platforms to over 150,000 followers and has transitioned to a secondary source of income with contracted brand partnerships and campaigns.
