Experienced professionals are keen to help younger women, but aren't sure what's needed or how they might help. Newer professionals are hanging out for guidance from their female elders, but aren't sure where to find it -- and when they do find themselves in a formal program or with a willing guide, they aren't sure what to do or expect. Some mentoring pairs click right away, but most find it a bit awkward at first. After all, we are all human, and these are relationships.

Andrea Rayment is a Certified Executive Coach and the in-house Director of Professional Development for the lawyers and law students at Clark Wilson LLP. She studied law in an earlier century and practiced labour and employment law at corporate firms in Canada and Australia for eight years. In 2002, she began serving clients in a new way:  first as a professional development leader in a global law firm, and then as an independent career consultant and coach in Australia and Canada. She joined Clark Wilson LLP in 2018.
