8-10-16 Technical employment in Santa Barbara, 2016

Our August Presentation:

Our annual technical employment panel is always popular and informative. Find out how  economic recovery is affecting the Santa Barbara technical job market. Will job opportunities return? Will new job descriptions emerge? What skill sets are likely to be in demand, and what jobs are now hard to find or hard to fill? What are the predictions for future technical employment?

The Science and Engineering Council’s own Gary Kravetz will moderate a panel of technical recruiters and human resources managers from local technical companies. The panelists will discuss their views on the Santa Barbara technical job marketplace. Confirmed panelists include:

Susie Weslander, Executive Recruiter at Volt

Susie brings over 20 years of recruiting experience on the Central Coast. Her experience covers all aspects of recruiting and relationship building with clients and candidates. Expertise includes Technical, Executive Level Management, Accounting, Finance, Administrative, Marketing and Human Resources recruiting.

Sharon Mercer Brown, Corporate Director of Human Resources at Moseley Associates, Inc.

Strategic business partner and manager of the day-to-day human resource operations for this global telecom organization. HR partner to diverse business groups. Provide support for employee relations, coaching for performance, training, and talent/retention needs, process and policies. Key leader with strong business and customer orientation.
