PAEE Scholarship Application 

The Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educators (PEAA) annual two day conference will take place on March 13 and 14, 2017 at the McKeever Environmental Learning Center.  The conference features respected speakers and seminars covering a wide range of environmental topics with workshops, lectures, outdoor studies and other learning experiences for attendees.  For an agenda and more information visit www.paee.net. 

PACD is awarding six scholarships for the 2017 PAEE Conference registration fee which includes one year membership in PAEE.  The goal of the scholarship is to help conservation district educators improve their ability to teach about environmental topics by learning new techniques, discovering the latest tools and materials available and by networking with other enviromental educators.

The scholarships are made possible through an Environmental Education Grant from PA DEP.  

Scholarship Application Rules and Procedures:

1. All Pennsylvania conservation district employees involved with environmental education and outreach are eligible for the scholarship.  However, employees who spend at least 50% of their time in E&O activities have priority.
2. The scholarship will pay the conference registration fee which includes access to classes, activities and meals at the conference.  One year PAEE membership is included. 
3. All other costs (travel, lodging, additional materials, etc) are to be paid by the recipient.
4. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis to eligible applicants.   However, Only one scholarship will be awarded per conservation district - unless fewer than six districts apply.
5. Applications will be accepted until  the maximum number of applicants is reached.  Submit your application early for the best chance of receiving a scholarship. 
6. If you receive a scholarship, you will be notified by email and will be required to:
   • Complete the PAEE registration online within one week.  You will be given a "code" to enter when registering that will designate you as a PACD scholarship recipient. Failure to meet the deadline will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
   • Agree to pay any additional costs above the registration fee to attend the conference.  You are responsible for your transportation and lodging arrangements. 
   • Agree, to return a completed Event Evaluation form to PACD by March 22, 2017.  Note that a short narrative explaining how the resources and knowledge you gained will be utilized in your E&O activities is required.
