2020 Agricultural Conservation Technical Training Boot Camp Level II 

This training was rescheduled and the new dates are August 31- September 4, 2020.

Sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, State Conservation Commission, and the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Appropriate for those who attended a Basic training held at Fort Indiantown Gap in the years 2000-2019, those who attended one track of level II last year and would now like to attend the other, and those with 1 to 3 years of professional experience.

Please note: Boot Camp is not a two-week course. The instructors prefer that you use the information you learned in Basic for a year and take Level II the year following Basic. This is not a 2-week course. Do not apply for Basic and Level II in the same year.

If you do not receive confirmation from PACD, you will not be admitted. No walk-ins will be accepted. 

COURSE CONTENT
General (provided to all): Conservation Planning and Ag Waste System Planning -  plus the topics covered by your "track."

FEES
Participant registration fees are waived. Funding is provided through a Special Leadership Development Project Grant, sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the State Conservation Commission.

All participants may take advantage of the room block rate, but only conservation district staff will be reimbursed for two nights (as funds allow) by PACD.

Rate: $82.00 (inclusive) per night. You must ask for the "PACD Room Block BL2" when making your reservation. The room block expires on August 3, 2020.

PACD will reimburse the conservation district (up to $82/person/night) AS FUNDING ALLOWS for the lodging of those whose office is more than 45 miles away from the Dauphin County Agricultural and Natural Resources Center in Dauphin. Monday through Thursday evenings only. Please note: there may not be sufficient funding to fund both nights for every district employee. 

The training itself will be held at the Keystone Conference Center at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA for the Engineering Track and for everyone on Thursday and Friday. The Agronomy Track will meet at the Harrisburg NRCS office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. 

MEALS
Lunch will be provided. Breakfast and dinner will not be provided. The Candlewood Suites have full kitchens. Please plan to bring your own refillable water bottle and coffee mug.
