Join Mtech’s Biotechnology Research and Education Program (BREP) for a special launch event at the University of Maryland IBBR Building in Rockville on April 17th, 2019. Learn about this new industry-relevant new course and enjoy an evening of traditional BioBuzz networking with others in the regional biotech ecosystem.

The BREP in partnership with other NIIMBL and IAAE is offering a brand new hands-on short course in Automation Engineering – “Essentials of Automation Engineering for Biomanufacturing“. Come out and tour the facility, learn about the new program and how you can get hands-on industry-relevant experience with process control equipment, hardware, control software, and documentation for control/automation of biomanufacturing operations.
This new blended course has been vetted by industry experts at Merck and Genentech and is offered to industry, students and job-seekers who are seeking to acquire essential skills in automation technologies and practices relating the vibrant and growing industry of biomanufacturing. The course was developed with a project award from the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) and financial assistance from the US Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (70NANB17H002).
BREP is the region’s premier biotechnology, biopharmaceutical and biofuel research center, designed to bolster Maryland’s burgeoning biotechnology industry. The program consists of two core facilities dedicated to proving supplemental research to academia, government and industry.
