2014 State Leadership Retreat

Let’s Get Excited!!!!

It is with excitement that I invite you to our 2014 State of Maryland Leadership Retreat scheduled Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. This year we are continuing our 3M's (Membership, Management and Missions) with a focus on Preparation through Certification and Training.

Registration Specifications: General Registration $80.00 (includes breakfast, lunch, materials and retreat gift); CPR/First Aid Registration $100.00 (includes lunch and 5-Hour Red Cross Certification ONLY).  Registration is open until Sunday, August 31, 2014.  Only those sorors with confirmed registration via Constant Contact may make payment by certified check, chapter check and money orders on-site.

As of July 1, 2014, all sorors serving as Amica Sponsors, Youth Advisors and Undergraduate Advisors must be certified.  The certifications are being offered with general registration to ensure we are conducting the business of Zeta as mandated.  Certifications will run concurrently in the morning; participants must sign in by 7:50 AM and sign-out when the seesion is complete.

For Youth Advisor Certification Participants ONLY

Sorors serving as Youth Advisors must be clear a background check performed by National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) in order to receive certification.  Be advised, there is a fee associated with this service. NCSI provides a comprehensive background screening program using their full service product and a simple “Red Light/Green Light” clearance report issued in accordance with the criteria chosen by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Simply go to http://www.ncsisafe.com and click on “Start Your Background Screening Now”.

Complete three easy steps:

Step 1: Enter Self Registration Number: 83972442

Step 2: Enter Your Information as Requested

Step 3: Provide Legal Authorization and Certification

The “Red Light/Green Light” Results will be sent to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  The National Center for Safety Initiatives will contact you directly if there are any questions, problems or issues related to your specific information. An email address is required when completing the background check as the contact with you will largely be electronic. Please be sure to add “ncsisafe.com” to your list of acceptable domains in your email program to receive notifications from them.  It is important when entering your name, that you use your full legal name as written on your birth certificate or driver’s license. Please also verify that your social security number was typed correctly. Using nicknames or failing to type a correct social security number may delay or invalidate your background check.

If you have any questions or problems submitting your information, please call the National Center for Safety Initiatives at (866) 833-7100.  Once you have submitted your information you will receive a confirmation page. The background check generally takes 10 business days to complete and you may check your status on the NCSI website under the "Check Your Background Screening Status" link at www.ncsisafe.com.
