#GreenNFit 2018 Volunteer Registration

Working Together to Improve ONE Block of ONE Street, All in ONE Day with 1,000 Volunteers!

Revitalize CDC's 26th Annual #GreenNFit Block Rebuild is set for Saturday, April 28, 2018.

If you want to truly make a difference in your community, this is the opportunity for you!

* Volunteers over the age of 14 and of all skill levels and abilities are welcome

On April 28, 1,000 volunteers will repair and renovate more than 10 homes on Manhattan Street (from Walnut Street to Eastern Avenue), in Springfield's Old Hill Neighborhood.

Like last year's #GreenNFit Block Rebuild on Alden Street, completed 6 homes, 1 public middle school for at-risk students, 1 nonprofit, improved a community garden and 9 vacant lots.  Together we will provide healthy and safe homes for military veterans, elderly residents, families, and people with disabilities.

It's all part of Revitalize CDC's #GreenNFit 10 in 10 Initiative - our ambitious plan to revitalize Old Hill by renovating contiguous street blocks, from Tyler St. to Hickory St., through 2022.

Major renovations to homes on Manhattan Street will include conversion from oil heat to natural gas; new roofs; energy-efficient windows and doors; insulation and weatherization improvements; HVAC system updates; 'Age in Place' modifications like handicap ramps; electrical and plumbing repairs; house painting and vinyl siding; installation of smoke detectors and deadbolt locks; and landscaping.
