An Empowering Mother's Day Brunch- Benefitting the Coffee Connection 

Step back in time with the Coffee Connection this Mother's Day, May 14th from 11:30am-2pm, at The Perkins Mansion. Enjoy a delicious brunch and bring the family, or make it a special afternoon for mom and daughter/son bonding. There will be a silent auction with items that make the perfect Mother's Day gifts (unique jewelry, salon services, massages and more!), so come ready to bid and win! All proceeds support the Coffee Connection program dedicated to empowering women in recovery from addiction.

Tickets are only $35, and in addition to unique brunch stations (featuring recipes that were popular in 1917), there will be tours given by women 'visiting' from the early 1900's. These extraordinary docents will engage you with stories from the mansion's empowering history and direct you to the special women's suffrage exhibit on display in the nursery.

About the Coffee Connection: Rochester, NY has a 90% poverty rate for women who head households with children. Women in recovery from addiction, especially felons, are generally in that high-risk group. Some of those women lost good-paying jobs because of their addiction and/or incarceration and need an opportunity to prove themselves again. The Coffee Connection gives them that opportunity in a safe space. We work to enhance their experience, education, and help build a career and achieve economic self-sufficiency as they move from intern to employee. Our nonprofit business is staffed by women in the program, not from the outside. We sell fair trade, organic coffee, which we roast ourselves, both wholesale and retail. Our 2 cafes and catering are run by the women. When you support the Coffee Connection you help women in recovery integrate back into the community, one day at a time. This keeps them out of harm's way and less likely to relapse or in some cases, go back to prison.
