Mr. David M. Breede is the Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Special Reconnaissance (SR) at the HQ US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), MacDill AFB. He is responsible for synchronizing the development, testing, acquisition, and fielding of SOF-Peculiar systems for technical collection, intelligence support, and sensitive site exploitation. Mr. Breede directs a cross functional team ofprofessionals to execute a portfolio of military intelligence systems acquisition and rapid capability insertion research and development programs.
Mr. Breede is a career acquisition and engineering professional and a graduate of the National Defense University’s (NDU) EisenhowerSchool and Defense Acquisition University’s Program Manager’s Course. Mr. Breede has a Bachelor of Science Degree in EngineeringScience and Mechanics from Virginia Tech, a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University,and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from NDU.His awards and decorations include several excellence and special service awards and the Civilian Meritorious Service Medal. He is amember of the Defense Acquisition Corps and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
As a part of USSOCOM SOF-AT&L, it is the mission of the PEO for Special Reconnaissance to lead the rapid and focused acquisition ofstate-of-the-art sensors and associated C2, emplacement, recovery, and specialized communication systems across all domains toenable total situational awareness for the SOF Warfighter.
