NAVY and DOD SBIR/STTR Funding Topics Workshop 

Be the first to learn about the 2020 DOD SBIR topics during this special workshop, featuring a live broadcase and a NAVY rep onsite in Portland to answer questions!

The Maine Center for Entrepreneurs (MCE) and the Maine Technology Institute (MTI), with support from Verrill Dana and the Small Business Administration (SBA), are hosting a free workshop for Maine small businesses interested in applying for a share of the $1.8 billion in annual funding offered by the Navy and other DOD branches to develop innovative ideas to meet their needs. This workshop will include live streamed presentations from representatives of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Air Systems Command, as well as representatives from ONR, DHS, and DARPA. In addition to the live stream, a representative from NAVSEA’s SBIR program office will be at the Maine satellite location to answer questions. Karen West, MTI’s SBIR Consultant, and Cindy Talbot of MCE, will also be available to help you determine your eligibility and prepare to navigate the application process.

One-on-one meetings with James Torretti, CTR, Navy SBIR Program are available on December 3rd or after the workshop. Indicate your interest on the registration page.

8:00 – 12:00: NAVSEA Live Streamed Workshop 

       8:15:  Panel Discussion featuring past awardees and how to get ready for the DOD SBIR program.
       9:00:  SBIR 101 and Topic Authors - Each author will have 2 min/topic

12:30–12:30: Break, light lunch

12:30–1:30: Q&A with James Torretti, CTR, NAVSEA SBIR Program and Karen West, MTI TAP Team
